Treo 680 updates : version 1.12 vs 2.12 ????

Hello all,

three weeks ago I've upgraded my unlocked GSM Treo 680 with this patch :

Today, I discover this on the Palm web site :

The description of both updates is the same :

Is there any differences between the two ?

Look at the tops of the pages. One is US/Canada and the other is
Europe.

Look at the images where you check the ROM version, if it's the same*, you
won't need it.

And the regions are different too. One is for the US and the other is for
Europe.

Wouah !!! I did not see that. Btw, at the time of my upgrade only the
US/Canada version was proposed (I guess ! I did not see the European one...)

So, This will slightly change my question : what are the differences
between the US/Canada and Europe versions ???? ;-)

I have upgraded my French Treo with the american update. Well, so far
the phone works OK and battery life is improved (almost doubled the
battery life). Should I consider applying the European update ?

Really? Wow. That's quite some improvement. Did you have the battery
update?

Yes; you probably should. I don't know how fussy Palm are with the
warranty, but if your French Treo had a problem and you returned it, they
_could_ get awkward with you.

Yes I already had the previous battery update (from factory).

Hum... I will download it just in case it disappear from the web site.
But so far, I'm waiting for more technical info before into this.

So far I've found that the least reliable application on the 680 appears to
be the Bluetooth keyboard driver. I've had a few crashes using this and one
using the 'phone / contacts application.

Charlie has just decided that she wants a Centro...
