Default Palm Treos and TomTom Navigator 6

I installed TomTom Navigator 6 on my Treo 650 and it is very
responsive and works very well. My wife wanted a Treo so I purchased
a Treo 680 for her. After upgrading the firmware so that it didn't
use up the battery so fast (among other things) I had to install a
patch so the 680 was compatible with Navigator 6. I was successful at
applying the patch but the performance is nothing to be desired.
TomTom runs in slow motion -- nothing like the 650. If I can't find a
solution to the slow response time I'll be getting her a 650 (if I can
find one). Is anyone else experiencing this kind of performance with
the Treo 680 and TomTom Navigator 6?

What about a 750? TomTom also has a patch for the 750 so that it
works with Navigator 6. Is this slow eratic performance seen with the
Treo 750 and Navigator 6 too? Appreciate any suggestions. Thanks.

Never mind -- I found my own solution. It's amazing what a little
internet research can do your you.

On a windows PC you need to format your flashcard as follows:

results (16K), even with big Western Europe map.

Less than 4 GB (FAT16):
2 GB SD (SanDisk) FAT16 mit 32K: format X: /FS:FAT /A:32K

4 GB and more (FAT32):
4 GB SD or SDHC (Transcend) FAT32 mit 16K: format X: /FS:FAT32 /A:16K

"X" is the drive letter.

After formatting my 2.0 GB Memory Card using the above an then copying
the original files back to it, the TomTom Navigator 6 software
screams. Tested and satisfied. Hope this helps someone else. Thank
you Barnel for sharing your knowledge at http://discussion.treocentral.com/sh...d.php?t=134695
