Access Linux Platform
Access has announced that the new Palm OS replacement, the Access Linux
Platform, will be available by early 2007.
1) Therefore, does that mean we will have new Palm PDAs running the ALP in a
quarter's time ?
2) Does anybody knows which companies will be producing these hardwares
running ALP ?
3) Will Palm be using ALP ? Or will they just stick with Palm OS 5 or even
switch to Windows Mobile ?
4) Will these new ALP running hardwares be mainly smartphones ? Will ALP be
more like Symbian than the Palm OS we have been used to ?
5) Do you think Access' ALP will bring on a new bright future for Palm
related PDAs or will Palm OS be in demise from now on?
Your response and discussions on these questions will be greatly
appreciated.

ALP will be release to hardware developers in a hardware neutral
configuration that will require months of tweaking for a particular
hardware platform.
ALP will only has Asian languages.
ALP will be geared for one-handed cell phone operation without a
touchscreen.
Palm will never use ALP.
Palm is writing their own UNIX OS.
These are my really dumb answers to your realy dumb questions, how the
hell do we know what the hell is going to happen in 1-1/2 years.
