  1. Plugins directory seen twice in Mozilla 1.7.13

Since there seem to be several people here who know their way around the
Mozilla products and were so helpful in getting Java working with FireFox
and SeaMonkey on my system I am hoping someone can point out what is
causing this problem with Mozilla on one of my systems. As I noted in the
subject, the plugins directory is being seen twice with different
capitialization which prevents PrefBar from working with my Flash plugin.
Here is a cut from xpti.dat:

    [Directories,4]
    0,J:\OS2-APPS\MOZILLA-1.7.13\components
    1,J:\Moz_Prof\Mozilla\Plugins
    2,J:\Moz_Prof\Mozilla\plugins
    3,J:\OS2-APPS\MOZILLA-1.7.13\plugins

Of course 1 and 2 above are the same directory, but if I edit one of them
out and restart Mozilla it is recreated wrong again. The error here
results in errors in pluginreg.dat that cause the problem with PrefBar.
In case it is relevant, config.sys contains:

    SET MOZILLA_HOME=J:\Moz_Prof
    SET MOZ_PLUGIN_PATH=J:\Moz_Prof\Mozilla\Plugins

Any suggestions in addressing this problem? Thanks again for helping me
get FireFox and SeaMonkey sorted out. If things look good enough with
these I might decide to ditch Mozilla if this can't be fixed.

Try a REM in front of 'SET MOZ_PLUGIN_PATH=...' as it is redundant,
since the two set statements point to the same place. Then delete the
pluginreg.dat file while Mozilla is closed (double check by ctrl (hold
down this key) clicking on the program list in Warpcenter-second icon
from left)and reboot. Assumes that you have "SET
SCKILLFEATUREENABLED=1" in config.sys. Alternatively, use TOP to check
running programs. Make sure you have no plugin other than the default
in the plugins folder in the tree that has the executable (3 above).

One other thing you could check is to open the J:\Moz_prof\Mozilla
directory in detail view and make sure that both the title of the
directory and path name of Plugins is capitalized the same way (Column
to the left and the column to the right of the double vertical lines).
Don't know why Mozilla would be checking the title, but who knows...?

I REM'ed the statement as noted, deleted pluginreg.dat and edited my
xpti.dat file to remove the extra path. After rebooting the system I now
have things working as they should. Thanks for the suggestion!
