  1. Issue with X509_REQ_set_subject_name on IA64

This is a follow-up to my previous post. I have discovered that when using
X509_REQ_set_subject_name on my IA-64 system, that it will cause a segfault
in x509_name_ex_d2i much the very same as the post linked below. When
compiling the OpenSSL library in debug mode, the function operates properly,
as it does on solaris, irix, win32, and x86_64 platforms. Unfortunatley, the
only mention of a fix in the posting was a possible compiler error. Could
anyone who offered input on this case, please share with me what was done to
fix the issue? I am operating on 0.9.7m. [openssl.org #1296] openssl
    0.9.8a/0.9.7g crashes on IA64

    Try:

    http://cvs.openssl.org/chngview?cn=16408

    and for 0.9.7:

    http://cvs.openssl.org/chngview?cn=16662

Thank you for your input Dr. Henson, the following seems to work without
error. What is the procedure from here to get the relevant changes into the
    baseline?

    http://cvs.openssl.org/chngview?cn=16662

    Thanks,

It is already in CVS so such changes will be included in any new releases
    after they were committed.

However 0.9.7 is no longer being maintained so it is unlikely there will be
    any new versions of that.
