  1. Inquiry on Speed input Size

    Hi All,

By using "openssl speed" we can test library performance. Can anyone
please tell me how long the input for these results is?
    For example:
The 'numbers' are in 1000s of bytes per second processed.
    type 16 bytes 64 bytes 256 bytes 1024 bytes 8192
    bytes
    md5 16807.01k 58256.45k 160439.13k 287183.53k 375220.91k

    What does "type" mean here?
"16 bytes" and "64 bytes" are the size of input or any thing else?

    Best Regars,
    Alireza

  2. Re: Inquiry on Speed input Size

If the numbers are the input size, is the following conclusion true
    based on above numbers?
My computer can process 58256.45k bytes per second for input size of
    64 bytes, in other words my computer can produce 58256.45k / 64 = 910
different md5 hashes per second for input size of 64 byte.
    Is this conclusion true?

    Best Regards,
    Alireza
