    Hi,

I have a GPS coupled to my pc. I verified that the kernel catches the PPS on the
serial port and that it delivers them to ntpd.

Why is it then that it stays like this:

remote refid st t when poll reach delay offset jitter
    ================================================== ============================
    *GENERIC(0) .DCFa. 0 l 43 64 377 0.000 3.229 6.323
    PPS(0) .PPS. 0 l - 64 0 0.000 0.000 0.001 <---
    -muur.intranet.v 192.87.106.2 2 u 39 64 336 0.001 -3.538 1.331
    thegateap.intra .INIT. 16 u - 64 0 0.000 0.000 0.000
    -auth1.xs4all.nl 193.79.237.14 2 u 44 64 377 8.117 -5.503 2.127
    -ntp1.nl.uu.net .GPS. 1 u 32 64 377 13.620 -5.806 4.803
    +ntp3-rz.rrze.un .DCFp. 1 u 38 64 377 28.545 -2.555 1.951
    +ntps1-1.cs.tu-b .PPS. 1 u 166 64 374 29.325 -2.969 1.726
    -ptbtime1.ptb.de .PTB. 1 u 35 64 377 23.464 -5.082 2.450

'when' stays '-' and 'reach' stays 0.

    (ntpq -c pe)

    Folkert,

I looked on my systems and it looks like I have not tried to get PPS working
    with that refclock.

Just the same, it may be useful for folks like us to put more information at
    http://ntp.isc.org/Support/ConfiguringParseRefclocks .

Do you have a prefer tag on one of your servers?

The atom driver doesn't know if the time is off by a multiple of seconds.
It plays dead until the prefer-ed driver is working and its time is close
    to a PPS tick.

Folkert, I am a bit puzzled by your post. You say you got GPS
connected, but you billboard shows a DCF source. Are you having a hybrid
setup where DCF is supposed to give the Epoch and GPS just supplies the
    PPS pulse ?
