running into a problem with suse 9.1, and linux 2.6.4, where my
solaris 8 nfs server spits out lots of:

and locking doesn't appear to work from the client. something about
suse compiled in statd into the kernel with a recent patch. for
whatever reason the sparc can't seem to chat back to it.
