Any ideas why firefox 3.6 checks versioncheck.addons.mozilla.org
instead of the updateURL I added to the install.rdf?

That isn't the install.rdf for prefbar because I'm not the
    topicstarter.
I manually checked the selected addon with right click -> "Find
    Update".

    I'm not dumb.

This install.rdf in combination with the update.rdf works in Firefox
3.5.* but not in Firefox 3.6.
The same addon displays "Update found" in 3.5 but "No updates were
    found" in Firefox 3.6.

    Very strange.

  4. Re: Why don't I get an "Update available" message?

As you can see here, Firefox 3.6 checks
    versioncheck.addons.mozilla.org with my addon ID
    "{FD47E738-9AFF-45DD-8A0C-08C4FE45D896}"

Now what? I tried to open one for myself and I even got the message
for "topic created" or s.th. like that but it's not there.
And I guess the author here has the same problem.
