  1. 'Cannot determine local time zone' error on fresh Bugzilla 3.4.1

    Hi,

    I'm getting the following error on submitting/viewing a bug on my
    newly installed Bugzilla 3.4.1:
    undef error - Cannot determine local time zone

    I'm using Ubuntu Server 9.04, DateTime v0.50, DateTime-Timezone v0.96.

    I've set the machine timezone using:
    sudo dpkg-reconfigure tzdata

    However the error is still displayed. After some Googling I found this
    thread:
    http://groups.google.com/group/mozil...eacd955a9eb90e

    Since I'm on Ubuntu, it looks like this isn't a Windows 2000 only
    issue after all. Does anyone have any ideas on whay might be causing
    this?

    Cheers,
    joe

    I got the exact same problem.... :-(
    messed around with the files a bit, couldn't solve it.

    Thanks Max. I'm still having no luck unfortunately.

    I think my timezone is set correctly. See this output from the
    console:

    $ ls -l /etc/localtime
    lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 33 2009-08-27 20:23 /etc/localtime -> /usr/
    share/zoneinfo/Europe/London
    $ date

    Any ideas?

    I've just reverted my system completely and reinstalled from scratch.
    This time it works! I think I had something wrong with one of my perl
    modules.

    The first time round, I got a lot of perl modules using apt. This time
    I installed all the necessary modules using 'perl install_module.pl
    ModuleName', and only used apt-get for perlmagick and libapache2-mod-
    perl2.

  5. Re: 'Cannot determine local time zone' error on fresh Bugzilla 3.4.1

    I solved this by using the CPAN command: install DateTime::TimeZone

    I had the same problem on red hat enterprise 5. It was not a problem
    with the system time or database time. I found it to be a dependency
    issue with the DateTime perl lib. Download, build and install
    Class::Singleton from http://search.cpan.org/~ABW/Class-Singleton/.
