Thread: Problem with Installing bugzilla on winxp

  1. Problem with Installing bugzilla on winxp

Hi, I am new here, but it is not the first time I try to install
bugzilla system, and every time it ended up with frustration. Make it
    short...
    Environment:
    1. Windows XP SP2 (D Drive)
    2. bugzilla-3.2.2 (E:\Bugzilla\)
    3. ActivePerl-5.10.0.1005-MSWin32-x86-290470 (D:\Perl)
    4. Apache 2.2 (D:\Programs...)

I have been following this instruction, https://wiki.mozilla.org/Bugzilla:Win32Install)
    so far.
After I set up perl modules and even did the msdrv80.dll &
perl.exe.manifest part, I used the perl checksetup.pl repeatedly to
check the results (Admittedly, DBD-pd is the worst part which wasted
me more than a day), by then it didn't give me any crucial errors
except perl-magick that I skipped, which I guess would be fine. But I
have NOT seen any localconfig generated in bugzilla directory. By the
time of finishing perl runtime setting in registry ("D:\perl\bin
\perl.exe" -T "%1"), I ran index.cgi to check how it works. Then it
gave me no html but this error:
"Use of uninitialized value in concatenation (.) or string at Bugzilla/
    Auth.pm line 44.
    Can't locate Bugzilla/Auth/Login/.pm in @INC (@INC contains:. lib D:/
    perl/site/lib D:/perl/lib) at Bugzilla/Auth/Login/Stack.pm line 36"

Similar cautions with coupe of. more cgi files I tried.

Could anyone help me to solve this? any insights or pointers would be
    very appreciated!

p.s. Considering bugzilla is so popular, why there hasn't been more
explicit installation manual in detail available, or a comprehensive
windows installer released, saving our time for project running.

    Many thanks, Max!
Eventually, I realized there was a misinterpretation of "Run
checksetup.pl again" which is supposed to be checksetup without any
parameters. There was where I got stuck as I was running "checkmodule"
over and over, how could that be....

Anyway, as you said I'd better put some useful reflections together to
make a suggestion to prevent others from struggling. Cheers.

    Hello Group,

I too got the same error mentioned below while installing bugzilla on
windows XP. I have verified the permissions on all the folders and it
all looks good. Can anyone help me to resolve this issue??

    C:\bugzilla>index.cgi
Use of uninitialized value in concatenation (.) or string at Bugzilla/
    Auth.pm line 44.
    Can't locate Bugzilla/Auth/Login/.pm in @INC (@INC contains: . lib C:/
    Perl/site/lib C:/Perl/lib) at Bugzilla/Auth/Login/Stack.pm line 36.

    Thanks,
    Vamshi
