  1. Mozilla firefox crashes

I was crashing with 3.0.8 2-3 times a day. Upgrade to 3.0.9 helped for
a day - but I am crashing again. It requires me to be using some site
or going after a link and all of a sudden it will slow down -
performance with increase significantly and crash occurs.

You may have a better format for me to get them to you.
My comment about performance has to do with the Windows Task Manager
(WTM). When I initially load FF it takes almost a minute for it to
come up and the Performance graphs in WTM almost go off the wall. The
Processes run up and down and trickle away.
Your comment about plugins seemed good also since a couple of addons
tried to load a while after 3.0.9 was done and running. I thought I
killed them, one wanted to do a search bar with Yahoo and I killed it.
    Appreciate your help.

You were right. Avg safe search 8.0 was on. Disabled and improved perf
by 50%. Will see if that handles the crashes. Have been on Avg 8.5,
but Safe Search 8 stayed. Perf is still questionable, takes 22 sec to
load FF from perf at zero. My previous 1 min included Window Explorer
(Wex) and FF, FF alone was 45 sec. I got caught with the Avg 8 toolbar
and had to delete and reinstall to get rid of it. Did not install in
Avg 8.5. See how things go with the crashes, two url that crashed prev
    - Unisys and Noaa weather - worked fine. I will be back on the
    performance. Thanks, Ted

No crashes since Saturday reply4. Performance continues a problem with
the FF 22 sec load on FF 3.0.9. Everything takes forever and the Wtm
cpu usage keeps peaking 80-100 with lots of red and green activity to
go with it. My old Compaq loads FF in few sec running FF 3.0.5 with
almost no Wtm activity. Only other ext is Java Quick Starter 1.0. Any
    ideas. //Ted

FF hung up with 8 tabs open. I was accessing Aim mail item and it just
quit. Wtm to the wall at 100 steady. Tabs were mail, 4 weather, 2
mozilla support, and google map. Also had Wtm and Wex open. Can't give
the url's, wouldn't copy and lost when kill FF process. Have been
concerned about the heavy perf activity on all processes, most go to
70-100 and trickle on for several intervals of the Wtm graph. The
initial FF load lasting 16 sec had a flurry of perf activity for 12
interval with a couple of 100's. There must be a solution to this, I
have not found anything in Mozzilla knowledge base or old support
threads yet. Do I need to open a different thread subject here to
address this and get help. //Ted

Installed FF 3.0.10 and stability and performance have both improved.
No more crashes or hangs. Performance closely parallels my other
system. Going to sign off and see if 3.0.10 is giving me what I
    need. //Ted
