  1. updates failed! How to stop the update each time I start Thundebird(windows)

    I had installed Th 2.0.0.22 on WinXP
    I used menu Help->check for update-> 2.0.0.23 was found and I accepted
    to install.
    But updating failed.
    Then I downloaded the full exe of 2.0.0.23 manually and installed it
    => all ok.

    But when I now start Thunderbird it still wants to install an update.
    Why?
    And this always fails!
    How to stop that!

    Thank you

    As I wrote in the FireFox group, FireFox and Thunderbird updates seems
    never to work on my PC, meybe because the TEMP folder is on dirve X:
    but the system on drive C:

    thanks, Chris

    No, X: is not a network drive, it is local
    and no, I have not a Logitech Web Camera nor other logitech software.
    What DLL could that be?
