  1. Text Smoothing by FF3

The new FF3 (by default) render every single webpage with "text
smoothing". As a result, text rendering appears "fuzzy" and harder to
read. With FF2, text rendering was much better, since it has "clear-
type" font rendering. Does anyone know of tips making FF3 not to
    render "text smoothing"? Thank you.

do you know how to use the about:config editor??

    1) type about:config into the addressbar
    2) in the next page next to the word Filter type in smoothing
    3) look for the line gfx.use_text_smoothing_setting
    4) if the Value is True - double click the line and the value will be
    set to False.
    5) CLOSE the tab

to personalise your FF/TB/SeaMonkey, you may like to (or be told to...)
    edit the "about:config" entries.
To find out more about those entries, and what the changes will (or are
supposed to...) do, look at these Websites first.

OPEN IT - READ IT - TRY IT

if you DON'T UNDERSTAND IT... LEAVE IT ALONE

    http://kb.mozillazine.org/About:config
    http://kb.mozillazine.org/Firefox_:_...config_Entries
    http://kb.mozillazine.org/Category:Preferences
(this is the start URL - click "next 200" at top of list for more
    categories)

You can print out the first and second URLs, but the third is a "layout
catastrophe", so don't try to print those pages!
