Thread: Issues with FF3B4 or B5 and heavy PNG pages

Is anyone else getting a pegged CPU and very slow image load times (one
at a time) while Firefox has focus and is rendering (the images cannot
be in cache, so clear your cache if you refresh the page)? I filed a
bug, but I just wanted to see if this is a widespread issue or just my
    own circumstances.

    Thanks,
    Mark

must be your version / OS.
Here, FF1.5.0.9 WIN-XPh SP2 on an old Athlon 1.8ghz, the images load
"one-by-one" but are certainly faster than I can move my fingers!
dunno what could be the cause of your slowness!

On Vista 64 with Fx3b5, CPU was up a bit but okay and the images
loaded fairly fast - like rows of dominoes falling.

FF3b5... running on my laptop... across a wireless network.. is
extraordinarily slow... profiles take minutes to open... clicking on
links takes 30 seconds before next page loads...

    its going away today...

Did you try clearing cache as was suggested in original question.
Also clear downloads (Ctr+J) if you don't see clear button then
right click on a download and choose clear all.

An about:config preference item that may have been set to True
change it back to default of False config. trim_on_minimize

The original poster posted a bug but did not give it's number.

Have you changed you access hi/low speed access.
Have you tried opening in a new profile.

David McRitchie, extensions I use are briefly documented on my site
    Firefox Custom: http://www.mvps.org/dmcritchie/firefox/firefox.htm

Also if you did some tweaks to increase speed you might try
resetting them to defaults if your test with a new profile provided
    better faster results.

i've tweaked the laptop and FF3 to withing inches of my life... its just
slow going... no matter anymore... gone back to FF2...

probably needed a clean profile anyhow...

only extension i'm putting back in will be Foxmarks bookmark synch
