Must be something else causing the problem. Here I have WinxpPro
FF2.0.0.6 and quicktime with no problems whatso ever.

Re: Quicktime and Firefox
The latest version of Quicktime is part of the problem. I solved it here by
rolling back to Quicktime 7.1.5

If you installed QT before installing firefox then uninstall it and
re-install 7.2. This will insure that FF will be recognized by QT. You
sorta proved the point by reinstalling the previous version AFTER FF was
already installed.

I haven't tried QT 7.2. But the previous issues were definitely not solved
by re-installing QT here. Only 7.1.5 Pro would work right so I've stuck
with it and have avoided any further problems. Does 7.2 Pro add any
functionality?

Try this:
Go to System Preferences/Quicktime/Advanced. Make sure "enable flash" is
unchecked. Then click on "mime settings" and go to miscellaneous. If
flash media is checked, uncheck it.

Sorry, that's for Mac OS X. Don't know about Windows.
