Thread: Can't delete attachments.

  1. Can't delete attachments.

When I want to archive a message I've written, I can always:

    1. Click on "View"
    2. Click on "Message Body As"
    3. Select "Plain Text"

Then the message shows attachments and inserted graphics as a row of
icons. I can then right click on any of the icons and select "Delete All..."

Yet if the message is from somebody else, I'm unable to do this
sometimes. Strangely enough, sometimes I can. Why should I not be able
to remove attachments from received email so that I can reduce the
    message size for storage?

Is there an extension which deals with this problem?

    TIA

Should add that I've tried "Attachment Extractor 1.0.1" and its
experimental method doesn't fare any better at deleting attachments.

Does this problem happen when you are trying to delete an attachment
which is already deleted , as mentioned here
    "https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=377087#c6" ?

No, it happens when somebody replies to me with inserted graphics that I
originally sent them. Another thing I notice when they do this is that
the images have all been renamed to "Inbox" plus a number and no extension.

When I switch the view back to "Original HTML", the images are still there.
