I would say it is very unlikely that this is a bug in Firefox. More
realistic cause is the keyboard. Do you happen to have another keyboard
to test with, or can you try to clean your keyboard (turn it upside down
and shake it to drop small particles inside it) to see if that fixes the
problem?

Are you experiencing this only with Firefox? Is there any pattern when
or why or with what letters it happens?

try hitting F7. Does that do anything?

Also, it was reported many, many moons ago, that there was a virus or
malware, or something like that, causing cursor problems.

I would suspect that you have a microphone plugged in.

this only happens with firefox and im sure it isn't particles of crep
in my keyboard because it wouldn't this type of behavior. as i type
repeatedly asasasas after a while it looks like this
asasasasasaasasass in other words the number of characters
typed while jumping behind it increases. i highly doubt it's dirt but
did a cleaning anyways.

im making sure its not a keyboard driver or something to that effect.
however i do notice that it only happens in firefox. mhm thanks for the

In support of lando, I am experiencing the same problem. It only seems
to kick in once you've had the browser open for a little while.
I have only recently started using firefox (v1.5.0.6) and, while it has
some great features I find myself returning back to using IE simply
because of this typing issue. I am currently using a new and clean box
at work - no bugs or viruses. Firefox is the only application that
exhibits this problem - indeed I have swapped over to MS Word to
write this response since it would've have taken 5 times as long had
I typed it directly into the firefox browser!

I have been experiencing that same problem for days now (cursor jumping
behind typed letters/numbers), since I upgraded. Sometimes I am able to hit
the "end" button to go to the end of the last typed character, but sometimes
even the "end" button does not work. It is so frustrating. Took me forever
to type up a simple paragraph.

I first thought it was my keyboard but then realized it was Firefox. I've
reverted back to using a different browser as well, which is inconvenient
since I really like FireFox. I use FF for some tasks that do not require me
to type, certainly not for sending email or submitting forms. It is sooo
frustrating. Will they be fixing that glitch/problem soon? I was about to
pull my hair out the other day until I found out I could just go to another
browser.

I have this same problem and I have the current Firefox. I've used FF for about a year and it has just started. Has anyone found a fix for this yet?
