Firefox aims to follow w3c web standards when rendering web pages. Are
you sure your code is valid? You can check it's validity easily via:

    http://validator.w3.org/

take your question to the MultiMedia testgroup - they are *doing things*
    with the Marquee tag there....

    snews://secnews.netscape.com/netscape.test.multimedia
    or
    news://news.mozilla.org:119/mozilla.test.multimedia

same posters in both groups, but secnews is faster and not moderated!

    Not quite reg
The secnews group is 'moderated' to a certain extent.

To answer your question, "loop" does not work in any Gecko derivative.
A lot of work was done on the marquee tag last Nov/Dec, and considering
that is is a non-standard tag, Gecko does a fair job of rendering it.
