the poster is posting to the lists. And to my
understanding, if you post to the list, using html, then the
list strips the html, so by the time it gets to the
newsgroup there's nothing.

Well if that is the case, then it is a list bug in my opinion. People
should be warned when they sign up for the list that HTML is banned on
the list.
