5.7.0 must issue a STARTTLS command first - Mozilla

  1. 5.7.0 must issue a STARTTLS command first

    When I try to send mail I get the following error: "5.7.0 must issue a
    STARTTLS command first"


    I googled the error and apparently the fix is to issue the following:

    "mail.smtp.starttls.enable","true"

    Not sure how to issue this fix!

    Any help??

    I had to tear out the newly installed "Avast" virus checker.. Works
    like a charm mow.
