Problem posting to this newsgroup! - Mozilla
This is a discussion on Problem posting to this newsgroup! - Mozilla ; I keep getting an error message that I need to compact folders. Doesn't
happen on other newsgroups because they come from my ISP. This group
has a different news server. It is interesting how the messages

Here's some more info. There were actually 3 popup error boxes in
succession. The problem is that it can't copy the message to my sent
folder, claiming there is not enough room. It does say messages sent
anyway when I select cancel from the alert box.
I have TWO sent boxes under LOCAL folders. One of which is actually a
directory that contains a subfolder called sent that is empty. The
other, original sent folder has all the messages I have posted to the
internet newsgroups. I have emptied trash and compacted, but still get
the alert.

are you sure its complaining about this newsgroup. There is
no compacting option for Newsgroups. Its only for your
email accounts. Perhaps, you could be in newgroup, and your
email accounts are trying to download, but you get this
message. If so, then to me its a problem, and I've already
made a complaint about it months ago, but went almost unnoticed.

I have a different news server for this group because my ISP does not
support it. This problem has nothing to do with mail processing that I
can see. I just opened Thunderbird and without even touching my email I
post this and the errors come again. I would imagine it is confused
about the extra sent folder. I can't even delete it. There is nothing in
it, it got created when I added this newsgroup, and for some reason
Thunderbird can't copy into it the way it wants to.
