Is there a way to lock a message in its folder so that it cannot be
accidentally erased? I can't seem to find one and it would be very helpful.

You could just save it somewhere else, such as your documents directory.

Thanks for this Wayne. TB has many drawbacks but the inability to "lock"
a message simply makes management a tough thing for me. Sometimes I just
want to mark every message read in a newsgroup to clear the folder from
my unread folder pane but if I do that I loose the original thread. Even
starring it makes it go away if it's been marked read. (similar holds
true for regular mail folders). I've been forced to move threads and
messages into a "Temp" folder and while that is a very temporary fix,
when new messages in that thread come in it's difficult to cull them
    together.

I don't really see how creating the ability to lock a message is all
that difficult from a programming point of view. It's done often enough
with other applications. However, not being (any longer) a programmer
maybe it is a difficult request.

    Again, thanks for your help.

    Jeff

perhaps a workaround for some, but that wrecks threading and other
    possible message grouping needs.

I am also missing a lock feature. I hope it will be integrated in one of
the future versions. Thanks in advance.
