Default One employee replaces another

My wife's company is getting a new executive director and they think it
reasonable that he be able to access the old ED's saved emails.

Can they just set up a TB account (this is Windows XP) and copy the
contents of the old ED's saved folders to the new guy's account, or is
it more complicated than that?

by account, you mean an email account, or a new TB profile? If email,
then just copy all the mail files [except the msf ones] from the old one
over to the new one.

Good question. As I always use one profile per account, I can't say
whether adding a profile to an existing account would be better or worse
than creating a new (email) account.

I think it has to be a new account because the email address for the new
guy will be different from the old guy's.

As the account holder will already have Inbox, etc., do I need to be
careful not to overwrite the new ED's files with the outgoing ED's files
having the same names?

Change the names of the files. OldInbox, instead of Inbox, for example.
This will keep the new guy's email separate from the outgoing guy's.
