CTinFL don't know what do you want to mean , so here are some other methods : 1.create a mailing List for those recipients : http://kb.mozillazine.org/Mailing_lists while composing , just type the nickname for the mailing list and change 'To' to 'Bcc' or 2.(if you don't want to create mailing List ) in compose window , click on 'Address Book' icon ( On Toolbar) use 'Control' key for multiple selection within Address Book sidebar after selection , right click on any selected recipient , and select 'Add To Bcc field' |

The BCC thing is correct, but it doesn't put each person in the To column. Something similar to what a mail merge of a word processor does. The answer is No. But you might want to look into Mihov's program: http://www.mailsender.info/ -- "Oh! Heavens to Murgatroid. I use lists, and what I do is open the Contact Sidebar, find the list, right-click and select Write. This opens a Compose window, with the name of the list in the To: field. I don't know what this looks like to the recipient, but I have enough e-mail addresses to run a test. I'll post the result in a bit. -- Take care Sadiq |

When sending to a list always include your email address in the list so you will be able to see what the recipients have received. This also proves the entire group has been sent out successfully when you receive your copy. James |

BTW, I'm not a spammer, but I don't want all my correspondents to have my full list of contacts, and I think the bcc solution with its "undisclosed recipients" in the "to" box is a bit odd |

Unless they all know each other, including them all in a visible list is really an invasion of their privacy, and all it takes is one goof by any one of them to get them all on a spam list. I've been unable to convince a good friend to edit forwarded stuff he gets and then forwards OR to use a bcc list - some of his forwards are nested 5 or 10 deep and contain literally hundreds of addresses ARRRGH!!! While the bcc solution can't do what you want, two comments: - the TB wording can be changed to a different phrase (I too think To: undisclosed-recipients:; looks a bit odd). - many folk send to themselves and bcc the list (I don't even notice it most of the time when friends do that). This eliminates the To line completely when no To entry has been made. CTinFL |

Open a Compose window, and out yourself as the TO: address, then add the list and change it to BCC: Then the recipients will only see your address. if you don't mind them knowing they are on a list this may be a solution. -- Take care Sadiq |

This is one of the stupidest functionalities I've ever seen: If I create a list and /don't/ want each and every addressee in it to see who the other addressees are, I have to BCC the /list/? Isn't the 'hiding' of e-mail addresses already implicit in the very idea of creating a list? /b. -- People are stupid. /A/ person may be smart, but /people/ are stupid. --Stephen M. Graham |

A list is a collection of people/addresses that you mail to as a group. For example if you mail to say 10 friends and family often, you put them in a list. Saves you having to type out all 10 email addresses when addressing the email. IF you want to hide the list, you BCC (blind carbon copy) it - then no one else sees the addresses. Say for example you are mailing in a business environment, you may not want the emails hidden, you may wish to have them listed so your correspondents are aware of who is 'in the loop' on that subject so to speak. When I email to various abuse desks, I list them all in the clear (not bcc) - so each desk is aware of who all I am in contact with regarding that specific spam. |
