Thread: Make an RSS Feed Available Offline?

  1. Make an RSS Feed Available Offline?

Thunderbird needs to have a feature to make an entire RSS feed
    available for offline viewing.

If this is incorporated via a traditional HTTP-grabber, you could
specify how many 'deep-dive' links to follow when downloading each
'post header' for full offline viewing.

The reason this would be an amazing feature is that most newspapers are
now online, and they are ALL offering RSS feeds for content.

If Thunderbird could have a 'get Feed for offline viewing' feature
(including full content not just the summary headers) then you
effectively create a newspaper reader that commuters can synchronise in
the morning before they leave for work.

Anyone know whether such an add-on exists, or whether this is on the
    Thunderbird Roadmap?

Its the next step in RSS viewing, I'm sure of it.

Well, this is mentioned in the Talk page of the Wiki article on
    'Thunderbird 2.0 Product Planning':

There's also an enhancement bug filed, though it still has an
'unconfirmed' status. You might find it interesting to read the
comments there and, if appropriate, add your own:

Just to clarify: the Talk page I mentioned is /not/ a roadmap of
features planned for version 2.0; it's merely a page where people
can insert comments. The Article page shows a list of actual
    /pre/-planned features.
