This is a discussion on In regards to Bug # 166342 Mozilla suite "next unread does nothingif all messages are read and a new one arrives" - Mozilla ; I was wondering if this but is resolved in the upcoming version of Thunderbird or if I'm just doing something wrong. I noticed that it existed under moz suite for quite sometime as per bugzilla. I'm using TB1.5.0.5 please note ...

    I was wondering if this but is resolved in the upcoming version of
    Thunderbird or if I'm just doing something wrong.

    I noticed that it existed under moz suite for quite sometime as per
    bugzilla.

    This doesn't even look like a bug to me. The only way I can replicate
    it, is to set the news account to check for new messages periodically.
    In such cases, the newsgroups are only *checking* for new messages, not
    downloading them and updating the message list. If the message list is
    not updated, "N" has nowhere to take you. You need to use Ctrl+T to
    update the message list, first. After that "N" works fine.

    Who validated that bug report?

    I do have newsgroups to check for new periodically.

    I'll try the ctrl T procedure, and then hit N or spacebar.

    One would think that clicking on the newgroup (hi-lited in the folders
    pane) while it has focus would update the list in the list pane.

    The original bug (166342) I found on the bugzilla site. It dates from
    MozSuite, it is still listed as "new". It appears to have been assigned
    to someone in the SeaMonkey group.
