The corporate world has been clamoring for this fix for months!
However, the extension is definitely preferred over the chrome - it's the
regular way to extend the functionality of Thunderbird, whereas hacking the
jar file is just that - a hack (and it's more complicated to do). With the
extension, all you do is download the .xpi file someplace, then go to
Tools/Extensions, click 'Install' and navigate to your .xpi file.
