Thread: SQL Problem with Bugzilla

  1. SQL Problem with Bugzilla

When i try to query something (does not matter what i query) i always
    get the following SQL error:

    SELECT bugs.bug_id, bugs.groupset, substring(bugs.bug_severity, 1, 3),
    substring(bugs.priority, 1, 3), substring(bugs.rep_platform, 1, 3),
    map_assigned_to.login_name, substring(bugs.bug_status,1,4),
    substring(bugs.resolution,1,4), substring(bugs.short_desc, 1, 60) FROM
bugs, profiles map_assigned_to, profiles map_reporter LEFT JOIN
    profiles map_qa_contact ON bugs.qa_contact = map_qa_contact.userid
    WHERE bugs.assigned_to = map_assigned_to.userid AND bugs.reporter =
    map_reporter.userid AND bugs.groupset & 0 = bugs.groupset AND
    (bugs.bug_status = 'NEW' OR bugs.bug_status = 'ASSIGNED' OR
bugs.bug_status = 'REOPENED') GROUP BY bugs.bug_id ORDER BY
    bugs.priority, bugs.bug_severity: Unknown column 'bugs.qa_contact' in
'on clause' at globals.pl line 134.

While doing a manual query i recognized that a some fields are missing
    here
Unknown column 'bugs.groupset' in 'field list'

    bugzilla 2.22.1-2
    mysql-server 5.0.32-7etch1

Before MYSQL server 5 there was a server with version 4 running and
everything worked fine, due to other programms needs an update to
    version 5 must happen.

Does anyone exerience the same or similar problem?

Whoa. That means something is seriously wrong with your
database. I hope you have a backup.

If you copied around the database, perhaps there were errors in
the transfer process. Try restoring from a backup and see if that works.

    Well i thougt so /;
I found a bug report from a former release change which throws the
    same error:
Unknown column 'bugs.qa_contact' in 'on clause'

    http://www.google.de/url?sa=t&ct=res...GIXe8H2n81bGXw
seemed to be an mysql issue with a join.
But when i try to recreate the query on the mysql client theres a
    different error:
Unknown column 'bugs.groupset' in 'field list'

The field groupset doesnt exist in the table bugs.

Its not my system were bugzilla runs, but i was told everything worked
with MYSQL4 so im wondering why the newer version could change the
    database structure?

  4. Re: SQL Problem with Bugzilla

This is a known issue with the syntax of queries changing a bit
    between MySQL 4.x and 5.x.

Which version of Bugzilla are you using? I bet it is 2.18 or lower. If
so, upgrade your Bugzilla and the problem should go away.

Ohhhh, are you running some old version of Bugzilla? Older
versions of Bugzilla don't work on MySQL 5. You would have to upgrade.
I think 2.20 or 2.22 are the first versions that work on MySQL 5.
