I found that the users could login with a username and not with a email
address. LDAP searches my domain for the DN
(which I would rather have it search for the email address). In the end
though, it does use the correct bugzilla email address username.

Is there a way that I can set this up to have the user put in the email
address and have it authenticate correctly though LDAP?

Something else must have changed. Could you show us the error
message that Bugzilla throws when it "can't communicate with LDAP"?

Competent, Friendly Bugzilla Services. And Everything Else, too.
