New Bugzilla user, needs help ref. MySQL
Good evening...
I am in the process of doing my first Bugzilla installation on Fedora Core
3, and things are progressing slowly but surely... well, sometimes perhaps
not so surely. :-\
Installation and administration of Bugzilla seems to depend on a lot of
prior knowledge of MySQL (or PostgreSQL if one chooses that), of which I
have zero.
So, my question is ... how much MySQL knowledge do I need, and where would
be the best place for a newbie to get it?
I'm kind of on the hook to get at least a basic Bugzilla installation
running soon...
Thanks...

I'm new to Bugzilla as well and I can tell you setting up Bugzilla to
work with MySQL requires very little expertise in MySQL. To set it up,
all you need is basic knowledge that can be Google'd such as creating a
user or database. Bugzilla basically does its best to create/populate
the tables.
Of course, if the application of Bugzilla is going to be more than
simply testing purposes, the you will definitely want to get a better
understanding of MySQL for administrative purposes.

And if you can follow step-by-step instructions with examples, you don't
even need that. Just read the installation section in the Bugzilla
docs. All the commands you need to give MySQL to get your user
authorization set up are included.
