Thread: AMO changes preclude obtaining anything new for Nightly

  1. AMO changes preclude obtaining anything new for Nightly

As far as I can tell the AMO changes preclude obtaining anything new for Nightly.

The AMO change hide the version numbers, so you can't tell
if an extension was updated near the current version 2, or
for anything in version 3. I see no way of obtaining a
an extension that you don't already have if you are using Nightly.

Or maybe the way you're supposed to do it is to use another
browser to download then install into Minefield. What's a
guy supposed to do. Regardless of very circumspect install
I see no reason why the version (and the platform for that matter)
is included on the addons site.

Having the developer's comments, relegated to a hidden area
that you have to expand, while the user ratings are visible is
    certainly not to my liking.

David McRitchie, extensions I use are briefly documented on my site
    Firefox Custom: http://www.mvps.org/dmcritchie/firefox/firefox.htm

  2. Re: AMO changes preclude obtaining anything new for Nightly

The AMO team has gotten plenty of feedback about this and we are
trying to ameliorate this problem in an upcoming release. For now, you
can access the "Complete Version History" link which is hidden under
the collapsed "Advanced Details" section on the add-on details page
    (e.g. see https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/1865) that
takes you to the Version History page which will let you download all
known versions of an add-on independent of the version of your browser.

    Thanks.

    Thanks Basil,
    That certainly helps.

For my addon the version history is consistently empty:
    https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/fir.../versions/6617

    should I file a bug?

    Marc,

I actually have a bug on this already @ https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=426793

Missed that bug... Want another one? Unable to find a bug for this either.
Statistics Dashboard: Active daily users (adu) is off. In my case the
number is currently at 2. My machines and my testing friends alone
should constitute at least, say, 11. The graph representing adu stops at
Wed 26 March. It seems like there is no datapoint for Wed 2 April. I've
seen weirdness of this kind for addons like Adblock after the Remora
update, but there it *appears* to be ok now.

Also today for a few hours the dashboard said: No data available yet...

Let me know if I should file a bug.

    Actually Marc,

We have that bug as well: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=426038
    but are awaiting verification.
