What about firefox/seamonkey on DSL? - Mozilla

This is a discussion on What about firefox/seamonkey on DSL? - Mozilla ; I've heard that Firefox is setup for 56k modems and can be modified for DSL by going in to the about :config and playing with settings. Can/Should this be done with Seamonkey? If so how? TIA Eric...

I think you have been misinformed. If either Seamonkey or Firefox (or
any other internet application) is not finding your default gateway you
have a different problem.

He's probably referring to concurrent page requests/pipelining. I
have no opinion on it as it seems to be working just fine for me set
at the default.

SM and Firefox should react the same no matter what your connection type
is (56K, Cable, DSL, etc). You don't need to "play with the settings".

The connection type will however determine download speeds.

as others have said:

1. where did you get this info from,

and 2. SM/FF has nothing to do with your connection to dsl
or a moden. That depends on the windows set up. If you
need information on how to configure a dsl moden, then
contact your ISP. They're the people who should tell you that.
