maybe this might be of some interest to those who insist on running

Uh, thanks? I actually used AMD's cool'n'quiet, but it kept giving me
blue screens when playing videos and driver corruptions. So, I disabled
it completely. It works perfectly under Debian/Linux though!

It's difficult to tell from this vantage point whether they will consume

I've been up three days and have 156MB in use. I have about seven tabs
open, most of which were opened at startup.

Uh, for those of us using Macs we just set the energy settings to automatic for the processor speed and maybe allow the disk drive to be turned off. Turning off the disk drive has a cost to turn it back on which will be more than it constantly spinning. I have to wonder where the break point is with this.

And for all but 3 to 5 months a year the heat from the computers in the bottom of my split level house reduces the furnace load for the rest.

He-he. I'm waiting only. I've concluded a long time ago it makes no
sense to report the bugs. The SM developers do something only if they
like it. That's why we have a lot of bugs of my grandma age.

And please, I am not going to hire someone to fix all bugs. I am
software developer myself, but I feel no pleasure to fix the SM stuff.

I can live with currently bugs. There was just a question about one more
bug and I've confirmed it. But the fact is the fact - SM has a lot of
old bugs since years and a lot of new bugs, especially in the 1.1.x branch.

Year... Just tell us something... Have you already changed your
super-mega-kilowatt-eater (I mean your desktop-PC of course) to
something more economical? For example, a notebook that eats only 50
    watt? I did. And you?

My 50 watt notebook eats only 1200 watt per day (24h).

Your desktop eats these 1200 watt for about 3 hours.

Besides, my notebook hibernates at night.

So, who speaks about an economy?

The unit you are looking for is watt-hours (energy)
    --not watts (power).

    Sure, I meant it

    50 watt x 24 hours = 1200 watt-hours

And if you want to be really correct, don't even _start_ to think in
watt-hours or kilowatt-hours but use the correct unit from the
    beginning, which is Joule.

I routinely have FF and SM, trunk and release versions, open with
20-100+ tabs and no problem with flashblock (not adblock) installed.

What version of flash player are you running?
    http://www.adobe.com/products/flash/about/ will show the version
Have you tried a trunk build with flash block and beta flash player ?
    Flash Player 9 Update 3. A beta 9.0.60.120 beta

use trunk build if you were using branch build and didn't get a talkback id.

Stable SeaMonkey don't come with TalkBack. See

FYI: All you needed in that URL was
    http://groups.google.com/group/mozil...65d35eba703b6a

Indeed, if you are pointing to the 1st post in the thread
(as you did) all you need is
    http://groups.google.com/group/mozil...ebc0a12209f9fa
(The 2nd group of hex digits index the thread to a particular post.)

    The /tree part is unnecessary (a reference to a frame--not a page).
Everything from the question mark up to &_done= is $QUERY
(search terms which appear in the *text* will be highlighted)
--and everything starting at the &_done= is complete junk.

true - I am referring to trunk.
Which IMO is the only build worth testing for this problem.

Are those trunks stable enough these days? I don't want to be using a
super buggy product. I do have to use it for hours and days to reproduce
it. Basically, is it safe to use on my production system and use with
    the current extensions I have?

hey, the current release of SM can be a "super buggy product."

Peter, are you implying that SM is a super product that can be buggy, or
are you implying that SM is an extremely buggy product??

In either case, I don't think the SM Council would be impressed!

The trunk is, by definition, never stable, and it's certainly never safe
to use on your production system. I do use a trunk build (the last XPFE
1.5a) as my main application, but I know enough to workaround and fix
problems and I back up my profiles twice a day. Not recommended for the
average end user. However if you are into bungee jumping, sky diving and
extreme sports, the latest trunk builds are perfect for you.
