IME (input method editor) - Japanese - Motif

This is a discussion on IME (input method editor) - Japanese - Motif ; I have installed it onto my laptop (Windows XP) but whenever i type \ it looks like a japanese character. Does anyone know how I can correct this? All of my paths are screwed!! Thanks James...
