  1. Netscape 7.2 bug in preferences window

    Hi,

    I just installed Netscape 7.2.

When I select edit->preferences, the text is cut off in most of the
    windows (Appearance, Navigator, Composer...). Under
Privacy&Security->Cookies I can't even read all of it. What I see is
    this:
    -------------------------------
    Manage Cookies and Sites
Allows you to view and manage stored cookies and per-site
setting for accepting and rejecting cookies. per-site settings
    (the next line is illegible)
    -------------------------------
This text is at the bottom of the window, and I assume there is
supposed to be a button to actually manage the stored cookies here.

I changed the theme to modern, restarted the browser, and I still can't
read all the preference setting text. Switching back and forth between
preference windows does not reveal any text. (I saw a note related to
this in the Release Notes, that said doing that or choosing the Modern
theme would correct a similiar problem.)

I do not have any problems seeing all the text in windows with any
    other software.

    I am running Windows 98SE

Any suggestions, or anyone else have this problem?

I don't have the problem with the classic theme with Netscape 7.2 and WinNT. Your problem might be with fonts being too large; either Netscape fonts or system fonts.

I tried Netscape 7.2 with Win98SE. I could not duplicate the problem.

Maybe try a different font? Or, if the window has a "maximize" button, try
that, as it will try to fit the window to the display. I've found that to
work on my old laptop with 800x600 display for windows that extend beyond
the screen boundaries. Unfortunately, not all windows have maximize
    buttons, though...

I have the same problem with Netscape 7.2 on Win2k. I noticed it for the
first time after reinstaling everthing on a fresh OS install. I don't
know if it's left over preference settings from the first time around, or
    what, but it's definately there.
