I have found I have better luck with disabling all removable media
    and use http://easyurpmi.zarb.org/ or http://www.mandrivauser.de/smarturpmi/

Thanks but I would rather use removable media.

Do you know how can I get the updated urpmi that the bug fix mentions?

See if there are 2007.1 repositories you have not selected.
(For 2008.1, there is main and contrib, plus updates and backports
for each, as well as free, nonfree, and plf free and plf nonfree --
but urpmi should be in the main or contrib or one of the updates or
    backports repositories).

If no joy, back up your system first.

Go to easyurpmi.org and set up repositories for 2008.0. Look for
the package you want there. If you find it, install it and hope
it works. Delete the repositories for 2008.0.

Install Mandrive 2008.1, or wait a short while and install 2009.

    Cheers!

    As per http://wiki.mandriva.com/en/Releases...ovable_devices

    ftp://carroll.cac.psu.edu/pub/linux/...7.1.noarch.rpm

I'm surprised it was never moved from the testing branch to the updates
branch, but that seems to be the case.

Thanks that worked. When I installed that package I got a "bad/missing
signature" (Not sure of the exact message) Is that because it is from
    testing?

Also, is Mandriva going to move that to the updates?

    Thanks again.

    I expect so.

As before, I'm surprised they didn't already. Given that they haven't,
I doubt they will now. 2007.1 has already passed the point of getting
desktop updates, and is less than a month away from base updates stopping.

    See http://www.mandriva.com/en/mandriva-...ifetime-policy

2009.0 should be available soon. I'd wait for that, and do a clean
install, when it does get released.
