Available from Mandriva as an update:

    virtualbox-2.0.0-2mdv2008.1
    dkms-virtualbox-2.0.0-2mdv2008.1

Installed and working fine so far. Not that I use it for much,
so not a thorough test, but...

    Linux localhost 2.6.25.11-tmb-desktop-2mdv #1 SMP Mon Jul 21 08:03:02
    EDT 2008 x86_64 AMD Athlon(tm) 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 5000+ GNU/Linux
    virtualbox-kernel-2.6.24.7-desktop-1mnb-1.5.6-1mdv2008.1

    In the Backports mirror. :-)

    Not much testing here either.
I proved I could run my 2009.0 RC1 Guest with the 2.0 rpm from
    http://virtualbox.org

    $ cat /etc/release
Mandriva Linux release 2008.1 (Official) for i586

    $ uname -a
    Linux wm81.home.test 2.6.24.7-desktop-1mnb #1 SMP
    Mon Jul 28 15:12:10 EDT 2008 i686 AMD Athlon(tm) 64 Processor 3800+ GNU/Linux

I would guess no. Your settings would be in your account.
Kind of like a firefox/thunderbird update.

I do a urpme/urpmi with the downloaded rpm from virtuabox.org and have
    no problems so far.

    Only guessing?!
Was hoping someone had already done it and could confirm! 8-)

Confirmed. Ran urpme VirtualBox, then rpm -i on the file downloaded from
    the website.

Only difference I noticed was due to the change from qt3 to qt4, as I had
    different font sizes selected.

Yeah, I did to, but I kinda thought Maurice was wanting confirmation
about the Mandriva Backport rpms. :-)

I did notice the font change. It looked much nicer on the 1.6.4 release.

Run qtconfig and /usr/lib/qt4/bin/qtconfig, and copy the qt3 font settings
    to your qt4 configuration settings.

    Marurice,

I had VirtualBox already installed and running fine.

I updated, and the new version downloaded and ran through all the
configuration stuff automatically. When it was finished, I
clicked on the icon for VirtualBox in the KDE toolbar, and it started
right up. My guest machine was sitting there ready to be launched,
and it worked fine when launched. I did not alter a thing at any point.

    Cheers!

Yes, but IMExperience it is unusable. It won't let me access anything
outside its own little VM file. A bi like a mummy on the system.

Hmm, I have no problem using the Shared Folders feature to access
files outside its own little vm file.

I also was able to do NFS mounts between other guest on the internal
    VM network.

I do wish they could fix the ping problem.

OK - made a backup, bit the bullet, and did the replacement.
All seems to work fine - thanks, Dave!

Yes, pity about that. Doesn't bother me all that much, but I will
    look at the posted adjustment...

Seems so, though the VBox website labels the Mandriva RPM "2008.0"!

Did that (Tempus Sans ITC, Normal, 10) but still got poky font in
VirtualBox. (Tried size 12, but no change...)

Need to e.g. reboot to take effect?

Heheheh, guessing the Mandriva crew is pretty busy working the
    "2009.0" bug list.

Also saw a Wireshark security fix which has yet to show up. :-(

In /usr/lib/qt4/bin/qtconfig, I copied the settings I'd had for qt3.
For the default font, I have the font family set to UniBurma_SansSerif,
Style is normal, size is 12.

    > Need to e.g. reboot to take effect?

Just select File/Save, then restart the qt4 application, in this case
    VirtualBox.

That's not in the list, so settled for Lucida Sans, did all other
    things and all OK now.

    Many thanks, Dave!
