P.S. There is an active VBox newsgroup:

    gmane.comp.emulators.virtualbox.general

    (at news.gmane.org)

    - and also a mailing list, apparently.

Tried that, and then 2.0.2, and was OK at first, but have now struck
    some serious instability with it.

Symptoms: (1) Frenzied disk activity when no action has been
specified. (No internet action going on).
    (2) Actions are like walking on glue.
    (3) Can't exit VBox

(Virtual 10GB is only half full.)

So uninstalled and re-installed 2.0.2. Same problems.

Uninstalled 2.0.2 and installed 1.6.6, but will not initilise virtual

    So uninstalled 1.6.6 and re-installed 2.0.2.

At first sight it seems to be OK... Watch this space.

    Anyone else having similar problems?

I have yet to find any problems with 2.0.2.

Getting about 140+ package updates about every other day for
    the 2009.0 RC2 Cooker load.

Following just appeared in the virtualbox newsgroup:

"I believe the xml file changed with VirtualBox 2. I had to roll back
to 1.6.6 because some of my domains no longer booted. Now that I'm
back to 1.6.6 everything works great. What I had to do was delete the
xml file and create a new VM from the interface and add my disk files
    to it."

Re-installed 2.0.2 seems to be back to normal...

(So, uninstalling and re-installing didn't do the trick, but
uninstalling 2.0.2, installing 1.6.6, uninstalling that and
    re-installing 2.0.2 DID, it seems!)

But I'll be returning to 1.6.6 when I can figure out how to get over
that VM boot-up error when replacing 2.0.2. with 1.6.6...

    Weird, I started with 1.6.4, un-install, installed 1.6.6, un-install,
    install 2.0.0, un-install 2.0.0 and install 2.0.2

    Running on a AMD Athlon(tm) 64 Processor 3800+

    $ cat /etc/release
Mandriva Linux release 2008.1 (Official) for i586

    $ uname -r

Got that sorted out - now back with 1.6.6.

The fix is - after installing 1.6.6 - to edit the VM's XML file (in
the Machines directory) by deleting 2 lines:

    (1) The line containing: " "
    (2) " " " : " "
