    Elsewhere I have written about uninstalling CUPS, rebooting and then
    reinstalling. What I missed out was that I lost the menu option to
    install or uninstall software from Mandriva's configuration menu!
    I managed to do it with urpmi but I would still like to restore the
    graphical option. Again, can I seek help?

    start 'rpmdrake' at the command line and look for errors in the console also
    repeat for 'mcc'

    .... "urpmi rpmdrake". It may ask to install a bunch of other dependencies,
    like perl.

    on mousepad. Partition scan in progress to remove offending
    incompatible products. Reactivate MS software.
