Since moving to Mandriva 2007 (with its dynamic init script
ordering) my NFS client machines can't seem to make up their
mind what device number the NFS mounts (for /usr/local and
such) should be. (The NFS client machines are powered up
only when in use; the main/server machine is up 24/7.) The
changes to the device number cause tripwire to flag
everything in /usr/local as changed from one boot to the
next.

Is there a known solution to cause the device numbers for
the NFS mounts to be consistent from one boot to the next?

Thanks.
