Due to the clearing effect of the killfile
I was able to see Howie.Feldersnatch@home.com say:

What sort of system is it? I had mandrake 10 running on a P166 with 64 meg
ram a while back. Had 10.1 on P2-450s.

Hmm, was this posted in 1999?
    Nope doesn't appear to be.

    Try Mandriva 2007 first.

There's very little difference between 8.1 and 9.2.
Both are seriously out of date with no updates available.

My MDK 9.1 -- RPM'ed with many 9.2 packages -- was a solid workhorse for
me -- until one of my hard drives went toes up. For now it's MDK 10.2,
with Kubuntu in the wings on a shake-down machine.

    Look in here:

    ftp://mirror.fis.unb.br/pub/linux/Ma...inux/official/

Sometime back I needed to replace one of my Cheabytes.com CD's due to a
scratch. I found my 3 replacement MDK 9.2 disks out there -- somewhere.
Maybe at the URL above -- maybe not. But, they can be found. Usually
it takes a little sleuthing. Visit some of the mirror sites for
'current' MDK ISO's and travel back _up_ the directories to discover -
perhaps - old versions' ISO's in alternate sub-directories. Persevere
-- it may get a little frustrating.

(-: I *love* that little [UP] button on konqueror. :-)

    ftp://ftp.ale.org/pub/mirrors/mandra.../iso/9.2/i586/
