I just updated avahi-0.6.13-4mdv2007.0.i586.rpm to
avahi-0.6.13-4.1mdv2007.0.i586.rpm from the official sources.

Before the update kded was running fine without avahi-daemon enabled at
startup, but after the update kded was crashing continuously. So one has
to enable avahi-daemon after the update (chkconfig -add avahi daemon, or
use the control center), and kded will run fine.
