Got handed a WINDUMMY PC that 'must' be repaired.

What's the problem? AV software gone beserk because
the virus count has exceeded 200 (so far) and then
something kills it.

Post your guess what it could be here --> .

So no chance of booting up the PC then.

Well, along comes Linux to save the day again.
I have an old knoppix disk handy.
Boot up, copy the files out on his NTFS partition and hand user
his PC untouched for him to re-install.
All the file (probably infected) put on to a 16Gb SDCard.

The world of windummies is falling apart.
All the data is toast. So is everyone's IT time
if you are in the line of fire when things go wrong.
