Microsoft sales and profits still very strong - Sony profits plunge 90%
Microsoft continues to make billions in profits. In the last 13 weeks they
sold over $15 BILLION in products and made $4.37 BILLION in profits. Yet the
MORONS here in COLA continue to drink Kool-Aide, close their eyes to the
real world and chant how MS is collapsing and about to go into debt. (yes...
MORONS. Anyone who claims MS is collapsing is simply a MORON.)
Microsoft's Earnings Don't Disappoint
The software behemoth's fiscal first-quarter numbers provided investors with
some reassurance that the floor isn't falling out from under global IT
First-quarter sales grew 9%, to $15.06 billion, beating analysts'
expectations for $14.8 billion. Profit rose 2%, to $4.37 billion. Liddell
said conditions "clearly deteriorated" as the credit crisis worsened in
September, but didn't say by how much. Still, sales of server software used
by corporations grew 18%, and sales of the Office productivity program
remained brisk as well.
News isn't good for Sony.
TOKYO (Reuters) - Japan's Sony Corp (Tokyo:6758.T - News) posted a 90
percent fall in quarterly profit as growing worries about the global economy
sent the yen higher and hit camera sales, and the company kept its annual
profit outlook of a 58 percent decline.
