FLA for KDE .. WEE!

,----[ Quote ]
| Well, the FLA, or Fiduciary License Agreement, allows a contributor to grant
| rights to KDE e.V. over their contributions to the project. The extent of
| what is covered is defined by the signatory in the agreement and the whole
| thing is very carefully put together to keep KDE e.V. from doing Bad
| Things(tm) such as taking the code proprietary or from the contributor losing
| all rights to all work they ever do.

[FSFE PR][EN] FSFE welcomes KDE's adoption of the Fiduciary Licence Agreement
(FLA)

| FSFE welcomes KDE's adoption of the Fiduciary Licence Agreement (FLA)
|
| Free Software Foundation Europe welcomes the adoption of the Fiduciary
| Licence Agreement by the K Desktop Environment project. The FLA is a
| copyright assignment that allows Free Software projects to assign their
| copyright to single organisation or person. This enables projects to
| ensure their legal maintainability, including important issues such as
| preserving the ability to re-license and certainty to have sufficient
| rights to enforce licences in court.

Between Akademy and Feature Freeze

,----[ Quote ]
| Akademy finished, it was great.
| Next week is feature freeze in Ubuntu land, so we are working hard on filling
| the distros with the necessary features, if not always beastie-free.
|
| We got a new Adept in thanks to the excellent mornfall, so now people can
| install and upgrade and manage their packages again. Some bits were missing
| though so I implemented an equivalent of adept_batch for installing packages
| from a command line with a GUI (used by Amarok's codec installer for
| example).

KDE 4.1 in the press

,----[ Quote ]
| Note to the German readers: I like the review at golem.de (scroll down to
| find the exact URL!), it’s very comprehensive. If you have a not-so-geeky
| partner and are tired of looking at a blank face when you’re talking about
| the new KDE, you should definitively point her or him there.

KDE 4.1 adoption seems high

,----[ Quote ]
| KDE 4.1.0 was released this very same week and already 17% of Konqueror users
| of the last month to my blog are using Konqueror 4.1, seems quite high to me
