  1. ARM based MID's will kill off Windows for good

nVidia announced the Tegra line of processors, which include a ARM11-CPU along with nVidia's graphics engine, resulting in a high-powered yet low-power consuming computing platform which *only* runs Linux, as Windows XP is only available for x86 processors. Besides, these things will probably be dirt-cheap, nearing the $100 mark for a Wifi enabled, touch screen computer with full Internet and multimedia capabillities. Microsoft will cringe as these devices *cannot* run Windows and even if they were stupid enough to put Windows Mobile on it the normal Windows software wouldn't work on it, giving Microsoft no advantage over Linux, but having the disadvantage of being non-free. And more and more manufacturers such as Acer want shed their 'box' manufacturing image and differentiate themselves by building their own operating system, using Linux.
