Well here is what I got... Compaq is faster than GCC-4.0.1, no surprise
there, but the difference isn't as great as one would initially believe. In
the past, programs would often differ by approx. 30%... no longer. GCC comes
out pretty close to Compaq C. With simply images there was normally a 15%
difference in speed, going to Compaq C and with more complex images, a
nominal 5%! Yea, GCC starts catching up... Below is the facts, make your own
judgement...
