My client is looking for a high-performance, motivated individual to join their Product Development team as a Web Developer. The ideal candidate is enthusiastic about the content offerings in the area of financial products such as Auction, Bankruptcy, M&A, Venture Capital etc. and has done significant web application development/QA in a UNIX/Linux environment. You will work as part of a team to architect software that adds value to their website, a site with an unparalleled leadership in the area of financial deal making.


Primary Responsibilities:


- Using J2EE, database and search engine skills, work in our development team to build web-based high-value content products

- Test and debug software modules both individually and as part of a larger group.


Specific Responsibilities:

- Develop critical business applications.

- Develop and test applications that query and integrate results from databases, search engines, and XML feeds to generate dynamic content on the web site.


Required Experience and Technical Knowledge:

- 2+ years experience in web development working in a professional software development environment, preferably within a publishing enterprise

- Experience working on the Java app servers, XML, JSP, Java, Oracle or other databases, Solaris.

- Prior experience working with search engines such as FAST, Lucene etc in a web environment is a big plus.

-Must be able to work independently

- Excellent communication skills; will work closely with the editorial project team to refine specs, design, build, test, and deploy product in a fast paced e-content environment.
