Expanding company seeks an Infrastructure Specialist/Engineer with good
Linux, Unix and VMware experience. Knowledge of the Windows OS and Active
Directory is a plus. This person will have responsibilities for assisting
the Director of Infrastructure with daily office operations such as
desktop support, troubleshooting and responding to network requests. The
person will also assist in supporting the network environment and provide
hardware support of routers, servers, switches and firewalls. The person
must be willing to work during off hours in addition to regular working
hours.

Programming: Perl, .BAT

Platforms: Linux SUSE 10/9,SOLARIS 8/9, Windows XP Pro/2000/2003, Cisco
command line

Database Systems: MySQL

Business Knowledge: Experience with financial data feeds a plus
(Bloomberg, Data Stream, and FAME)

Communication Skills: Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work
closely with business users and programmers.

Responsibilities will include in order of priority:

Linux/Unix Administration
VMware administration/installation
Desktop support including deploying BMR builds Assisting users with
LAN/WAN/RAS connections Documenting BMR procedures to create a run book
Active Directory/Group Policy administration MS Exchange administration
Patch administration for servers, routers and switches Legacy code
analysis and documentation PBX Systems Admin
Candidates must also have:

1 Bachelors Degree in technical field or similar

2 1-4 years work experience in a technical support role

3 Ability to handle multiple tasks. Need to be able to prioritize
production support requests, bugs and long term development projects
throughout the day.

4 Knowledge of network management and Cisco router/firewall administration

Knowledge of the desktop environment including the OS (Windows XP) A
commitment to meeting deadlines and working extra hours as needed to
ensure task completion and system functionality. Proven ability to
troubleshoot and resolve problems quickly; document issues from production
problems, propose solutions and implement them.
